"No Better Mother-in-Law" by Howard Dansky

Teddy's son, my brother-in-law David asked me to read his tribute to Teddy, which I'm honored to do.

Just a few words from me first, though. A few words like selfless and giving, non-judgmental and discreet. You'll hear that from everyone who talks about her today.

From the beginning of Yona's and my relationship, we often hung out at the house at 506 South Bellevue, sometimes sitting in front of a nice fire in the fireplace. Teddy quietly made me feel at home in her home. So much so that it felt totally the natural thing to do to have our wedding in Teddy and Willie's backyard on a sweet September day. And hundreds of Teddy's signature knishes were on the menu - the same ones that I'd not infrequently been coming over to scarf up out of the freezer at lunchtime from my job at Philadelphia State Hospital.

Teddy always did all she could to sustain our family, and she reveled in the gifts we gave her, two grandchildren and then two great-grandchildren. She was always positive and nurturing. I could not have asked for a better mother-in-law.
